AHA certified BLS 
(Basic Life Support)
for Healthcare Providers 

The BLS course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills,  AED use, and ventilations, in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings.

 

    The BLS course is required for Nurses, CNA's, Physicians, Therapists, etc. It is also required for students in these fields.This is course is composed of some video and hands on skills training. CPR Training of St Augustine has all of the up to date AHA required materials for your use during this class including brand new manikins that provide feedback on how well you are doing..These practice manikins have the new 2019 AHA required lights that show that your chest compression timing and depth are correct. AHA’s BLS Course provides the foundation for saving lives after cardiac arrest.  BLS teaches the concepts of high-quality CPR, improvement of chest compression fraction, and high-performing team dynamics. BLS from the AHA offers the advantages of: interactive video content, representing the latest resuscitation science for improved patient outcomes including realistic scenarios, simulations, and animations depicting rescuers, teams, and patients. THIS COURSE COVERS • New science and education from the latest AHA Guidelines. The components of high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants. The AHA Chain of Survival for prehospital and in-facility providers. The Important early use of an AED. How to do effective ventilations using a barrier device. The Importance of teams in multi rescuer resuscitation and performance as an effective team member during multi rescuer CPR • Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants.Upon completion of all course requirements, participants receive a BLS Provider Course Completion Card and is valid for two years

 

Heartsaver CPR/AED

The Heartsaver course is designed for those that have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency through job responsibilities or regulatory requirements  
 
   This course is for teachers, many OSHA jobs, child care workers, personal trainers, school employees, foster parents, coaches, camp counselors, youth organizations, yoga instructors etc.
Heartsaver courses are intended for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements. These courses can also be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting. AHA’s Heartsaver CPR AED course provides the knowledge and skills that may help save a life. Although much is being done to prevent death from heart problems, cardiac arrest is still one of the leading causes of death in the United States. The skills learned in this course will help you recognize cardiac arrest, get emergency care on the way quickly, and help the person until more advanced care arrives to take over. Heartsaver courses from AHA offer: a cohesive, consistent experience for the learner, best practices to give students the best possible learning experience and help them better retain information, enhanced and realistic scenarios, while providing course and content flexibility. THIS COURSE COVERS • Adult CPR and AED Use • Opioid-associated Life-threatening Emergencies • Adult Choking • Child CPR and AED Use • Child Choking • Infant CPR • Infant Choking. For many Heartsaver courses, students receive a course completion card and is valid for 2 years. 

Heartsaver First Aid is a video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services arrives.   The AHA Heartsaver First Aid Course is designed for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in first aid to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements. This is the additional course that you take for any BLS or Heartsaver course that requires first aid to be added to your American Heart Association Card.. Or you can take this class seperif you just need or want, American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid Certification..
